Focusing on Purpose...

Last year I received a wonderful gift from my friend Cassandra and her mom Darlene for Vincent's baby shower, the gift included something for me, a book of Daily Devotions for Moms! I sometimes forget to look at it daily but I try my best to remember, and it always has such a great messages! Here is one I missed last week:

"Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; then stick to that path and stay safe. Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil" Proverbs 4:25-27

Here in the real world- a world populated by kids, dogs, husbands, dirty laundry, jammed traffic, hand sanitizer, and overdue library books- it's hard to stay focused. Ours is a world filled to the brim with distractions that can seem overwhelming at times. Your challenge as a mother is to stay focused on the big picture-the plan God has for you and your family.

Because you are a busy woman, your day is not your own: you have many responsibilities that  should not, indeed cannot be disregarded. But as you go about the business of fulfilling those responsibilities, don't forget to keep in view God's overarching purpose for you're life. It is a purpose that you and only you can fulfill. And the the time is now, because tomorrow may be too late.

"I avoid looking forward or backward, and try to keep looking upward" Charlotte Bronte

I fully agree that life is hectic and crazy. The path ahead may sometimes seem long with lots of turns and steps up and down and seem crazy and out of control at times.

But if you take it on with a strong heart and put God where he should be, in the center of it, Life is TRULY BEAUTIFUL!

Breathtaking, actually!

These pictures from our trip to San Francisco represent this perfectly! The long windy path to the Muir Beach overlook fit perfectly for our path we walk in life. The path may not be perfect but as long as you stick your feet firmly to it and focus on what is important at the end a beautiful sight is ahead. And if you keep it up it will get better and better, like the beautiful sunset. All the chaos in our lives are just stepping stones, but what is important is focusing on the bigger picture, and not only focusing on Him when we feel the need to. God is there for us EVERY step of  the way, and I think sometimes we as busy people forget that! I know I do and have at times, but He never leaves our side. I feel for myself and my family that keeping Him in the center and focusing on Him as much as He does us is key. Everyday is beautiful and every step of each of our path has a special purpose meant for us!
