Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! We had trick or treat on Thursday and it was FREEZING...I guess I should realize that November is almost here and snow is coming, but this warm fall has been great, WE HAVE BEEN SPOILED! We just stayed in the front yard and passed out candy, Vincent just ran around and loved all the kids dressed up!

Luke was a ghost and my was he SCARY!!

Vincent was of course a little monkey!

He seriously kept taking all the candy and dropping it all over!

We had a great Halloween!

After trick or treat I found this monkey in the basement playing baseball! Cutest ball player I have ever seen!

Hope you all have a great Halloween! xoxo

Wordless Wednesday

Road trip & a 1/2 birthday!

This past week we decided to do something out of the ordinary and travel with Jordan on a sales trip to Michigan...going into it I had imagined the worst case scenarios: screaming children in the hotel, not sleeping, me wanting to pull my hair out and just anything that could go wrong. Well the exact opposite happened! And I must say I am still in utter shock how it all played out! We left Monday afternoon and got to our hotel late that night, the room was perfect and huge, lots of room for V to run around...a small kitchen and there was even a jacuzzi tub in the corner of the room haha!

While Jordan went to work me and the boys lounged around ALL day...Vincent skipped naps so we just cuddled and read books and ate food! haha Perfect day in my eyes! :)

The first night we went to a steakhouse, the kind where you can throw peanut shells on the floor....well while we were waiting for our table Vincent was the center of attention passing out peanuts to EVERYONE...and I mean EVERYONE!! They were all loving it!! I guess he is NOT shy!

We ended the first night with baths in the heart shaped tub... lol seriously heart shaped tub?! How weird!

The next day of course was MORE of us lounging! The boys were perfect minus the usual cries for being hungry and whining from not napping!

Luke was such a little trooper...he does not care where he is as long as he has a full belly, which is clear to see as he is a CHUNK! :)

The second night we went to dinner again, it was Vincent's 1/2 birthday... he is 1 1/2 now!! AHH!

Jordan taught V how to blow bubbles...lol

He likes ribs just like his Daddy!

Vincent also debuted a new facial expression...

We came back to the room we celebrated and sang Happy 1/2 Birthday with a special treat! There was a cute bakery down the road so I took the boys there that afternoon!

Then  it was off to get fresh and clean in the tub....complete with the most bubbles Vincent has ever seen!

Bubble Monster!

Me and my little dude!

The last day was by far the biggest challenge for me as we left the hotel and the freedom of being able to lounge around all day. We dropped Jordan off at his sales call and had 7 hours of time to kill! But luckily I found one of my favorite stores ever....IKEA and it was only 5 minutes from where Jordan was!!!

It was heaven, we had a fun time and I got to check out the table and chairs I want for V's playroom! They have the best kids stuff! Vincent even made a new friends!

After Ikea, we found an outlet mall which was fun for 5 minutes until V threw the world's biggest tantrum...you know the ones you see kids throw and you feel horrid for their parents...YA THAT KIND! We quickly checked out and raced out to the car! He was exhausted and totally over the trip and I felt bad for him! But he is a trooper and tried his best to be positive the entire trip! Jordan did not get out on time so we had to wait around for him, which was a little painful with screaming kids who want out of the car...but this is where the minivan came in BIG! I had the liberty to jump in the back and feed Luke, Vincent was free to roam around and do whatever, I had room to change both the boys diapers and just room to breathe! It's like a home on wheels haha!! We decided next time we do the trip we will get a hotel the last day instead of driving home so the boys won't be stuck in the car all day!

The trip turned out better than we could of imagined...with a few changes the next trip will be even better!! I loved every moment of it even with the screaming and crabbiness it was nice to get out of the house and explore a new city and state! I fully loved Michigan and all it had to offer! Cannot wait to go back!!

HOLY GREAT DEALS- Organic Clothing!

I just ran across this great site for organic kids clothing and I needed to share it! The site is Happy Green Bee Organics. I was shocked at their clearance prices! I ordered Luke a few things!!! I ordered him this outfit in red/green for Christmas! :) Then some cute striped leggings and shirts!

They have more for girls than they do for boys and it kinds looks like they are getting rid of the boys stuff in their new collection, which sucks but I was really happy with what they did have on clearance! I am excited to get it!! Hope you find some great stuff! Happy Shopping!!! xoxo

Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu and 5QF!

I am in LOVE with this recipe, as does my husband and Vincent! I have made it twice in the past week and plan on making it a weekly thing! I would highly recommend it for any dinner, the white wine sauce is TO DIE FOR! We even dip the vegetables we eat with the meal in it! We all have a clean plate at the end of dinner!

Chicken Cordon Bleu

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 8 slices ham (thin deli ham)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Paprika
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

I usually get a pound of chicken breasts or whichever I can find with 4 breasts in the pack. I pound the breasts to make them not so thick and big enough to wrap up.

I then take 2 pieces of thin sliced ham and 1 piece of swiss (split in 2) and roll them, make 8 rolls of ham and swiss

I place 2 rolls in the middle of each chicken breast then roll up the sides and place toothpicks to secure it. It does not have to be pretty, trust me mine look a total mess!!

Then roll the chicken as best you can in the flour.

Heat the butter in a large pan on medium to high heat, add the chicken and brown on all sides. While the chicken is browning I sprinkle all sides with Paprika, and a little salt and pepper.

Once the chicken is browned add the wine and chicken bouillon cube, simmer for 30 mins or until chicken is no longer pink

Place the chicken on a serving dish and mix the corn starch and cream into the left over wine sauce with a whisk, and bring to a boil until thickened.

And your done! Pour the sauce over your chicken, we smother ours!!

I served it last night with steamed asparagus and minced garlic. Delicious! Hope your family enjoys it as much as mine did!!

Now onto 5 Question Friday!!

1. What is your favorite Halloween candy?

My favorite Halloween candy is mini twix bars! I LOVE THEM, along with mini snickers and twizzlers! They are all so good! And I forgot those little caramels with the white cream in the middle are pretty tasty!

2. Do you fold your socks?

No lol I always think of little school girls when I see rolled socks! I just get the low rise socks, those typically work best for me.

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?

All the horrible things I did not know about the food I have been eating for years, I am on an organic kick lately and have been taking a lot of interest into what I am putting into my family's body. I have been reading Omnivore's Dilemma and am in shock of the stuff I am learning, I guess I never really thought about where meat has come from and what not, but lately I have been reading about how the cows are raised and fed grains and all sorts of antibiotics when cows are meant to be grazing on grasses and their bodies cannot take the switch to corns and grains so they have to pump them full of antibiotics. It just freaks me out and I do not want my kids ingesting those things their entire life. So I think I just wish I would have been more informed about the process of our food chain and how insanely it has gotten out of control and how the industries go to such crazy extents just to produce more. I would rather pay more for natural than take a toll on our bodies just to save a few dollars.

4. What is the most significant difference between you and your significant other?

Well clearly he is a boy and I am a girl so that is pretty significant of a difference! ha Just joking, I would have to say he is VERY organized and on time and I am the exact opposite, I lose things every 5 minutes and am always running behind even though I am trying my hardest to be more organized and punctual because I do not want my kids to form the bad habits I have!

5. What are three words you would use to describe yourself? (And, just for fun...if your significant other is around, ask him/her what 3 words they would use to describe you!!)

I would say outgoing, crazy, loving....Jordan's answer was short, forgetful and crazy haha! He knows me all too well!

Hope everyone has an AMAZING weekend! xoxo

Hershey's Halloween @ Our House!

This halloween we will be handing out candy to all our fellow neighbors dressed up! We are going to sit on the porch with our decorated pumpkins and hand out our treats!

Vincent will be dressed as a monkey and Luke as a ghost!!

Our favorite candy to hand out is of course Reese Cups, Twizzlers and Kit Kats! Vincent paticurally LOVES twizzlers, I think they are his favorite...that is until he gets to eat a candy bar one day! :)

Celebrate your Halloween with Hersheys! Check the cute cupcake ideas they have as well! We might have to use our Reese's for those!

Check out a few cool stats:

■About 30 percent of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Kit Kat Wafer Bar and Hershey’s Milk Chocolate lovers will do the monster mash this year as a vampire, witch or monster.

■Fans of Twizzlers Twists may get the chance to show their dance moves as they twist the night away dressed in garb from the 1950s. More than 41 percent stated they plan to dress-up in period piece costumes from different eras of the 20th century.

■Jolly Rancher lovers will most likely sport a cape on Halloween, as 23 percent expressed a desire to channel superhuman powers as their favorite superhero.

Disclosure: I am entering a contest for a Hershey’s Halloween prize pack as a member of the Mom Bloggers Club.

What would you tell yourself pre-motherhood!?

Last month one night when I was up late and could not sleep since Luke was eating pretty much every hour I was doing what I do best that is... stalking blogs! A friend of mines sister in law was due any day and I had been following her blog to see if there were any updates, well she had this great video posted and I watched it and sobbed...and it is all SO TRUE! I LOVE MOTHERHOOD!

So I ask you this.... What would you tell yourself pre-motherhood?

The answers I came up with are these:

You will be not only peed on but POOPED on and BOTH can stream further than imagined!

Any pain you feel from childbirth disappears instantly!

Your life will soon be complete!

God gives you miracles!

Your boobs will leak in public...but you can cover it with that cute little baby in your arms! :)

You are amazing!

ENJOY THE VIDEO....I know I did!!

My favorite from the video ESPECIALLY for me is : Google doesn't have children

Have a great Thursday! xoxo

Wordless Wednesday...Disappointed!

Clifford The Big Red Dog??.....Daddy is bigger than you!!!

Sunday FUNday- Pumpkin Patch!

We took the boys to get pumpkins today and it was GORGEOUS! It was 85 in Ohio, which is a huge shock because last week was freezing and I had already switched all the boys clothes to winter apparel, so I had to bust out the shorts for todays outing! I didn't mind one bit though, feeling the hot sun on my face was the perfect addition to the day!

The family totem pole!

Our amazing friends Harold and Steph came along!

They add lots of fun and excitement to all our adventures together...

Had to get Luke out for a family picture!

They found the perfect pumpkins!

Luke did wake up for a tiny bit!

It was the perfect end to the warm Indian summer weekend here in the Buckeye State!
