2 of my Favorite Recipes!

My husband and I love pulled pork, so much that at our wedding we had our all time favorite BBQ place cater the event, best part of the wedding...okay that and the photo booth! Anyways I am really weird and have never liked sandwiches on buns, so that means I never eat a burger on a bun or a hot dog in a bun...it kind of makes me gag...not sure why but it does! So whenever I get pulled pork I always ask for a side of texas toast to eat it on. I mean who doesn't like garlic bread...YUM! 

So I like to make it at home. You will need:

A pork roast, or pork chops, pretty much any kind of pork.
BBQ Sauce
Parsley, garlic salt
Texas Toast

I just throw the pork roast in the crock pot on high for 4-5 hours, then I take the pork out and shred it with two forks, throw on some parsley & Garlic salt (my cure all spices that I add to everything lol) and BBQ sauce and mix. I really like to pretend that I am an amazing chef with the spices I just sprinkle on everything. lol But it works so just go with it!

While I am doing that I have my Texas Toast in the oven!

Once the toast is done I top it with the pulled pork and that is it! I swear it is so SIMPLE, easy and TASTY! I use a Honey BBQ sauce, and I just put in how ever much I feel necessary, so its really up to you how much BBQ flavor you want. 

Here is the finished product. The picture is HORRIBLE...I think the glare from the red plate killed the picture! 

Anyways here is a quick dessert recipe that I love, in high school in cheerleading we were assigned players on  the team that we would make treats for, well this was my all time favorite recipe to make for my players. I never have heard bad feedback on this little tasty treat!

Blog Followers, Meet Scotcheroos!

I promise you will want these in your tummy soon!

You will need

1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup karo syrup
6 cups rice krispies
1/2 bag chocolate chips
1/2 bag butterscotch chips

Mix in sauce pan and bring to boil sugar and corn syrup. Remove and add peanut butter and Rice Krispies. Mix well and spread in a 9 x 13 inch pan. 

In a bowl microwave the chips together, I stop it every 30 seconds to stir them, then spread the mixture on top of the rice krispie treats!

Allow the chocolate to harden on top, if you have the patience, I usually dig into them when the chocolate is still gooey! Hope you enjoy these 2 easy and tasty recipes!

Holy Moly...I will be turning the big 2-5 tomorrow! AHHHH...getting older doesn't really bother me right now because I still feel young. Sometimes when people ask how old I am I kind of stutter and have to think about it because I still feel like I am 21, I think it is just because the whole time you are growing up you cannot wait to turn 21, from then on the years just pass by. I guess my insurance will go down so that is a plus to turning 25! All I know is I am VERY HAPPY with where I am at in my life heading into my upper 20s! :) Hopefully I will be as cheerful when I hit my 30's! haha I am sure I will be!

  2. Yummy! I'm not a big pork fan, but I make a chicken version similar to that. And that dessert?? Umm, yeah. I'm drooling a little looking at it, lol. I will definitely try those out!

    p.s. Happy birthday!! Yay! I feel the same way as you about age.. I really do forget how old I am sometimes! Well anyway, 25 is a nice happy number I think so maybe you'll have luck remembering it throughout this year :)

  8. Oh. My. Goodness. We LOVE Scotcheroos. My very best friend used to make them all the time and we would devour them. We would freeze them to help make them last longer....but ya' know that they can be eaten frozen? Takes a little longer to eat it, but hey! =)
