Easiest Flatbread Pizza!

I love me a good piece of pizza.
But, since we started eating primal that does not happen often.
When I do have a cheat week day here is my favorite pizza.
It is literally one of the easiest recipes I have ever came up with!
 You will need:
Pepperoni, Salami, Chicken- whatever meat you desire
Olive Oil
Spice Blend (we have one called Krazy Salt, mixture of salt, pepper, garlic and spices)
Provolone Cheese
Feta Cheese- I LOVE FETA
Flatbread- usually in the deli section

Drizzle the flatbread with olive oil and sprinkle with spices.
Apply Toppings and cover with cheeses.
Bake at 400 until browned (8-10 minutes)
You can mix and match toppings however you want.
Jordan said these were AMAZING...which is huge for my uber primal hubs!
One thing as far as the crust goes...
I usually but the Tandoori Naan Flatbread that looks like this....
But this last time I bought a run of the mill brand (Schwebel's)
I actually liked the Schwebel's better because it came with 5 flatbreads vs only 2!
I would really suggest going with the Schwebel's flatbread to get more bang for your buck!
One night I am going to try my Chicken and Corn Pizza on the flatbreads!
If you haven't tried that pizza you are missing out!
Enjoy!

Traditions- German Festival...

Traditions....
Ahhh....Something I have always envisioned my family having a lot of.
I was always envious of families who could proclaim "we have done this as a tradition for 25 years!"
I always found that so interesting and cool that each year a family would take time out of their busy lives to take a break and do something special as a family.
We did not have very many growing up since my parents divorced and everything was pretty random but I always wanted my family to create traditions that would stay with our children and grandchildren for years, even after Jordan and I are not around. I want them to laugh and giggle about all the fun they had each year and tell stories about "that one time....." or "remember when dad used to always walk barefoot"....
Something to that effect!:)
I want to fill their lives with lots of traditions...
Not just the BIG traditions like vacations but the everyday traditions like prayers, nights in a tent, popcorn on Sundays, frozen grapes, reese cups on smore's, twizzlers with fireworks....

The one tradition that sticks in my mind the most probably because it was my most recent was that my dad and I would have dinners on Wednesday night at my grandma and grandpa when I was in high school.
I loved everything about it, getting to see them, the chocolate cake my grandma would make (because it's my dads favorite), talking after dinner and just spending quality time together.
Making it a point to stop in our busy week and visit with them.
Those visits sadly lessened when my grandfather got cancer, but I will never ever forget going there every week with my dad. I treasure those moments, even the ones where my grandpa got very stern with me about what life was all about (remember, I was in high school and thought I knew everything about "life") Life was not just about cheerleading practice and proms. Silly me!:)

I loved talking with them, the stories about from when they were younger. Man, things were so much better back then, and now that I am a mother I wish they were here to talk to, so I could tell them "I FINALLY GET IT!". They had so much wisdom and knowledge.
These are the kinds of talks I want my children to remember from our traditions...

Therefore when I saw The Bavarian Festival, I knew it was for us.
Jordan and I both have German roots, so what better tradition to begin than the Bavarian Fest....
This year we attended the 54th annual festival...
I imagine that there were families there that may have been there all 54 years, how cool is that!?
We saw people with matching shirts with their families name on them....
{insert jealous me....joking with Jordan that, that will be us one day!"
Here is year 1 of our family trip to the Bavarian Festival...
The hotels in Frankenmuth are Bavarian themed which makes it even more special!
First thing on the agenda was hitting the pool! (a hotel tradition!)
 Next was FOOD!:)
These peanut butter cups were AMAZING AND HUGE!
Next STOP: MORE FOOD!:) Zehnder's Famous Chicken....seriously.SO.MUCH.FOOD!
 Next Stop: Festival Time!
May pole dancers....
These two....melt my soul....
I seriously see this being Jordan and I in 50 years...
I die over the cuteness of all the people in liderhosen!
On the walk back we found peacocks (caged of course)

The next morning there was a kinder parade...no joke, it was 10 minutes long!:)
Next year we will stay for the real Bavarian Parade!
We had a great time seeing all the fun activities and getting a little closer to our German roots...
Here's to hopefully making this a family tradition...
and us ONE YEAR sporting some german outfits!:)

We also did Frankenmuth over winter....I think that will also remain a tradition!

Summer Fun: Camp Out Style...

Jordan busted out the tent last week and asked the boys if they wanted to camp out!
"YESSSSS!!", Vincent squealed at the shot to sleep out in the yard!
I decided to join in with my adventurous boys so we ALL slept in the tent!
We grabbed gobs of comfy blankets, pillows and of course Luke had snacks!:)
Vincent kept crawling through the area to place your wet shoes....perfect size for him!
I was skeptical on how the night would go...
You know when you were a kid and camped out and only made it til like 2am because you
realized that the ground is not NEAR as comfy as your bed...
Well that shockingly did not happen...the boys slept like rocks!
Vincent slept in the tent til 10am!
Here is proof of 2 of my sleeping angels!! haha
I am not a HUGE camper...I mean a like the idea and concept but 1 night is enough for me!
I would much rather sleep in my bed and not get bit by bugs, which I still have like 10 itchy spots on me...
But it was ALL worth it to witness my boys first official camp out in a tent!
I know this will not be my last camp out with a house full of boys!
Cheers to more fun bug bitten nights in the future!:)

I saw this the other day on pinterest and it made me laugh out loud...
My friend Brandi hates camping so I texted her the next day letting her know that we pretended to be homeless and camped out!
Pinned Image
Do you like camping out!?! Any fun ideas for our next camp out?

Weekend Photo Dump....

We have had a crazy busy past week....
Someone (cough cough) volunteered to make cupcakes and a cake for a wedding....
LOL....
So last week was chalked full with baking...
On top of that we also had a garage sale....
So Friday/Saturday were a hot mess around these parts...
But we celebrated with family Saturday after the garage sale at the wedding....
I think I had a tiny glass of wine...I would have drank more but Jordan's dads house is on the lake...
Which turns me into a complete psycho....
Which is why you will see my boys in life vests through the wedding reception! :)

During the garage sale I walked into to this....
Little Luke had taken it into his own hands to get into the wedding cupcakes....
PS When baking LARGE quanities of cupcakes it is always a struggle on how to transport them...
Which is why when laying in Vincent's room doing prayers I came up with the idea to use his dresser drawers to carry the almost 200 cupcakes!:)

The small cutting cake before the flowers...
After...
Now onto wedding fun....
The reason I am so anal at the lake... AHHHH
We had a great time with family and at the lake....
I am slowly becoming more comfortable around the water with the kids!
