Working out & Breastfeeding

I get asked this almost daily, "does working out effect your milk supply" "can you do shakeology when you are breastfeeding" well we posted last week on Real Healthwives about it!!

Here is my paragraph on it 
"Allie chiming in here. I did fenugreek for awhile around month 2 and ever since I started working out I have not done Fenugreek or the teas. My milk supply is actually up!! I found it so interesting because every other post partum time I had never worked out in concern and here I am with an abundance of milk from just being healthier and working out!! I do drink Shakeology which a lot of moms say has upped their milk supply while working out but all I know is that I have NO problems and Sam is a CHUNKER!

I also did a Shakeology cleanse while breastfeeding and no issues!! I think fitness, eating healthy and breastfeeding go hand in hand!! Don't be nervous to try it! Your body will always let you know it's limits

To read Jamie's breastfeeding story click here, we both have had NO issues at all working out and breastfeeding. I have honestly noticed an increase in milk supply!! So don't be too scared about it, as ALWAYS listen to your body and your baby for cues on if they are getting enough to eat. Sams happy smiles and chunky thighs assure me that he is content as can be! I am still in shock he will be 5 months in 2 weeks. Stop the clock!!

The past few weeks have been crazy, I feel like every week is always a little crazy with 4 kids. Such is life.
I am blogging way more over at The Real Healthwives but I want to keep this blog because this is where I started and met so many of you and created so many amazing friendships! 

Anyways here's what we have been up to!!
I started really working out on Ash Weds so 6 weeks ago! 
 My back is my main area. I think things are moving in the right direction!! I feel like all my pregnancy weights settled in my lower back and thighs, I have stretcth marks on the INSIDE of my thighs!??! Anyone else? I guess better there then my stomach!! 
I dropped my last 10 lbs within that time frame. 
I was so nervous to take on being a Beachbody coach. At first I was like no thanks! But man I am so stinking glad I took the plunge. I LOVE helping people! I love seeing people get happier and healthier and most importantly, more confident! Moms lose so much of themselves when we have kids, its such a rat race to keep up with our families, let alone ourselves. I mean seriously the past 5 years I did not at ALL make working out a priority!! I am shocked how amazing I feel from taking the small steps towards being healthy!

I really think my problem is because we went about it wrong! We joined a gym after Jude, and it was a HUGE fail! Taking all the kids to the gym is ANNOYING. By the time we even got there I had NO desire to workout, hence why we never went! Great waste of money! We dumped $75 a month to the gym. Yeah thats a tough one to swallow when you add up a year of that! UGH! Anyways when you find a program that works the whole thing is easier!! I started out doing just simple stuff like this at home...
That was a great place to start! Just get your body ready, you can do that workout anywhere. I would even do it in the bathroom while the kids took a bath! 

After that I welcomed the 21 day fix!! 30 minutes a day!! This is by far my favorite program yet!! Its great for beginners but also tough that you are feeling a great burn!! I had amazing results with this!! We just started T25 and WOW!! It's intense! I am excited to see my results from it!!

Anyways back to why I love coaching!! It doesnt even feel like a job!! I am sharing my story with others and helping them! It is so insanely rewarding!! I have welcomed a group of amazing new ladies to my team and I am so excited to watch them grow and help others! We can make people healthy and kick the obesity epidemic in the butt!! 
My team is seriously full of amazing women!! Each one of these ladies is passionate and I know they will do great things and touch so many peoples lives!! 

I am trying this year to pull back on Photography. I do LOVE it but last year I got a little burned out! I was doing it every single weekend. I LOVE capturing families but I also have to be realistic since my kids are so young. Its not as easy to sneak away on the weekends now that we have four little ones! But nonetheless I am trying to create a happy medium between being a mother, a coach, a photographer and a wife. 
But honestly these cute kids and families make it all worth it!!

 We tried snagging a few family pics since I have the boys on the couch....yup this is life...
 Vincent turned FIVE.....I am still in freaking shock!!!
His birthday was on Easter so it was a huge party anyway. I am forgoing birthday parties this year and doing just ONE BIG blowout this summer, mainly because 4 parties is way too many when you include in holidays. So one party is best for all of our families!!

I did the shakeology's pretty much the bomb! I cheated bad the first time but did it again this week and lost 3 lbs!! I did not follow it perfectly because I am breastfeeding but I did the best I could and my milk supply was not harmed at all!! I will definitely be doing it again! 
I do have trials and samples also because I know some people want to TRY them!! 

 It's finally semi nice here in Ohio so we can play outside!!
Juder is getting so darn big!! Him and Luke are honestly twins! 
 Sammer is still growing like a weed. Slowly starting to sleep a little longer sometimes at night! 

Him and Jude are also best buds.
Its nice because Vincent and Luke are homies so now Jude has a pal! 
 Awesome baby product alert!! Phil & Teds Lobster chair....OMG....I am in hooks on to any table or counter!! I wish we would have had this for every baby!! It comes with a carrying case so we can take it anywhere!! Plus he just looks so darn cute in it!! 
 And last but not least, the perfect MOM shirt!! Hello brand makes one but I found this one on etsy for cheaper, I am all about saving a buck! And its made in England, which is my all time favorite place so it was a win win win!!!

Any workout you can do is better than nothing, walking your kids, playing at the park there are so many options to get your body moving!!! So ask away!!

Homemade Cheez-Its!!

I love cheez-its but honestly a few years back cut the normal brand out and went with an all natural brand. Annie's cheese crackers are just not the same as Cheez-its, sometimes going more natural just does not have the same taste mainly because it has less junk in it! haha! That is pretty much what it boils down to. Therefore when I saw a cheese crackers recipe from The Chew that was so EASY I had to give it a shot! AND I'm so glad that I did....THESE ARE AMAZING!! A freaking MAZING!!!
I could have rolled mine a little thinner but honestly they were crunchy and airy and FULL of cheese flavor! 
 You will need:
1 cup flour
4 TBS butter (cut into tiny squares)
8 oz cheese shredded
4 TBS Ice cold water
(whatever spices you fancy, I sprinkled in garlic and onion powder)
A food processor
 Mix it all in the processor
 Make into a flat-ish ball
 Wrap in saran wrap and put in the fridge til it gets a tad hard.
 Once it is firmer roll it out.
 A huge secret I learned is to put dough between two sheets of parchment paper. This is so genius and helps a TON. I did this for sugar cookies this past Christmas and it saved so much time and drama with dough getting stuck to the rolling pin. Roll out until it is pretty darn thin.

Use a pizza cutter to cut into strips then into 1x1 inch squares, or whatever is easiest. 
 Place on your baking pan. I always use parchment paper, less mess. You can use a fork to make the edges look like Cheez-Its but honestly that is way too time consuming. I did these two then quit!
 Bake those babies at 350 for 10-15 minutes until they look lightly crispy! 

Let them cool a tad and you are DONE....
 The only downside is that they were GONE in like 20 minutes!!! They are so amazing! 
 I love how CHEESY they taste!! And much LESS junk in them than the real ones from the store! 
Next time I want to try different cheeses and spices. Spice it up a little!! 
They are so customizable so have fun with it!!! 

Chugga Chugga.....Progress Train!

As you guys know, or maybe you don't know.
I started working out and eating healthy last month.
I have always ate pretty decent but with all the pregnancies I allowed lots of bad things!
So on Ash Wednesday I made my lent goal to work out 30 mins a day and watch what I eat...
The working out part is entirely brand new for me.
I HATED working out, I just always chalked up the whole chasing my kids around and cleaning the house as a workout because honestly IT IS....A never ending workout!! But clearly those activities were not toning anything up so alas I decided to get serious!! 

We started the 30 day Body Rock Challenge on The Real Healthwives.
I won't lie, the first week or so was OKAY minus the soreness but the freaking workout would be 45-75 minutes. What the WHAT!?!? Yes, and it would vary, it had no consistency. 
Trying to fit in an hour plus with 4 little guys doesn't work so well. Its a train wreck.
And I was noticing my mommy patience went from struggling to pure bitch mode. 
I was TRYING my hardest to fit in this workout and I was so ANNOYED when they would interrupt.
It was honestly becoming more stressful than anything and I was hating it. Yes, I was starting to see results but yelling at my kids and being in a bitchy mood is not worth it!!! I want to LOVE what I am doing, not dread it!! Because if it doesn't make me happy, I won't stick with it!! 
Workout buddies and workout scene typically
 A few of my favorite mama friends were Beachbody coaches and I followed their journeys through instagram and facebook. They had mentioned the coaching thing to me randomly but I just blew it off because I was pregnant or it was the craziness of a newborn but once I decided to make the healthy change I started talking to them about it, it started with me just asking questions trying to find the IDEAL program for me since I don't have a large chunk of time yet I want to get fit!!! They filled me in on Beachbodys programs and the shorter workout programs like T25 and 21 day fix! I was all on board for these.

30 minutes or LESS has my name written all over it!!! They mentioned I could be a coach and also recieve discounts, and hello this mama likes discounts!!! Only way I shop!!

Well I was INSANELY hesitant, and of course said I didnt think it was the right fit for me. I never wanted to be one of those annoying friends on facebook only pushing products and I definetely didn't want to be TIED DOWN to some scheme. They sent me a video about beachbody and how it all works and WOW WOW WOW. Its not the typical pyramind scheme BS. There is no monthly quota, no inventory and no contracts, so basically its no loss to me. I STILL sat on the idea. I was all in for buying the 21 day fix but was on the fence about coaching. I kept questioning if I would make a good coach or if I had time for it.

I mean there I was with a newborn and 3 toddlers, and I also run my own photography business. Would I really have time for this coaching thing??? I finally decided to bite the bullet and just try, it was NO loss to be because I was already ordering the 21 day fix and I wanted to try out the Shakeology. So I dove in and joined as a coach, I literally just laid low the first weeks and took it all in. They give you all the tools to learn the business and it's so much fun. I have met so many amazing ladies already. Its a big family. Everyone helping eachother to succeed. I got my shakes and 21 day fix program and the mail and I tried them out FIRST before mentioning it to anyone. I needed to check this out and make sure it was the real deal before I post about it. The shakes, ummm holy hell AMAZING. And the 21 day fix workout....A DREAM....A freaking dream, going from the 45-75 min body rock videos to a 30 minute realistic workout was AMAZING. A FREAKING MAZING!!! We are also starting T25 this month which is only 25 minutes!!! I seriously can't get over how great these programs are for busy people!!! 30 mins is only 2% of your day. I can definetely find 2% of my day for working out! 
 Well I am ALMOST hitting my 1st month as being an official coach I am SO INSANELY excited!!! I went from being just a normal coach to EMERALD RANK!!!! That just means that I am growing my own team and I bringing on so many amazing coaches!!! You guys will most likely know who my newest coach is....Welcome my all time favorite mom blogger, RAVEN!!!
 I am so excited not only for Raven to grow as a coach but also to have another workout buddy. I know we will be teaming up for challenges are changing lives of women left and right!!! I love that blogging reaches you to so many more people! I would have NEVER found this "job" if it weren't for blogging! 
Our team is doing a FREE week long trial for people interested in coaching. You will be in a facebook group with us and we will just have a quick daily look at what coaches do. Honestly what we do is just share our personal story with others and the rest is handled by Beachbody. Its a breeze!!! 

Here so far are my results from doing Shakeology and working out!!
Sam will be 4 months this weekend and I NEVER EVER EVER thought I could be fit that closely after his birth!!! I mean honestly, this is me after Vincent....

I literally remember cropping pics of myself just so I could hide my body. The weight after preganancy is so real and crazy!! Especially when you gain between 35-70 each time!! I have been VERY uncomfortable in my own skin these past 5 years and I can honestly say now I am in a GREAT PLACE!

But these 25-30 min videos are way more realistic and shockingly fun!!!! 

Never in a million years did I think I would be a coach, yet alone succeeding only after being with Beachbody for less than a month!!! I am so excited to be an Emerald Coach now!!! (yes, I am a nerd) 
PS Raven and I are going to be trying the Shakeology 3 day cleanse this month!!!!! We will TRY it first and give our results!! We gotta make sure it works, but as far as I can say Shakeology is rocking my world!! I notice a difference in my mood and energy, and that is huge for a momma who only sleeps 4-6 hours a night, THANKS SAM!:)

Speaking of Sam, I finally got him to his well check, he is 4 months this weekend. He hasnt been to the doctor since he was 2 weeks old. #MOMFAIL

PS through all this I am still breastfeeding and Sam is still a chunk so no changes to milk supply!

Tiny Troll....

Ahhh, you guys. 
I thought Jude was going to turn out to be a peaceful little guy.
He was literally the perfect baby, everything was easy and smooth.
(Sam is now too but now that I see how Jude turned out I am terrified)
Once Jude figured out the whole walking game he literally began trolling.
At first I thought troll was a not so perfect word for his actions but MAN he proved me that the word troll is actually the most AMAZING word to describe him and his behaviors.
Jude has got to hands down be my biggest challenge. Its insane because he can go from being the sweetest biggest lover to the world's tiniest tornado monster of a child. Its kind of like split personailities. Maybe I should have him checked for that? Wait that would involve me actually having to take him to the doctors which well he is LONG overdue, as always. Just to give you a glimpse, Sam is going TODAY and hasnt seen the pedi since his 2 week appointment, Sam will be 4 months this weekend. That is  how behind we are. With Vincent our first, this would have NEVER happened. I was there EVERY appointment with notebook in hand. Oh how things change from each child. 
Anyways, back to Jude and his personalities. 
He started choosing not to nap awhile back which is where all hell broke lose. He just turned 2 last month and honestly the kid still needs a nap. He just tries to go and go and go like the energizer bunny but he frazzles out half way through the day and turns a tad wild. 
Each day my friends will most likely receive snapchats from me of Jude's latest adventures. Which at times I just can't even believe. The kid never ceases to amaze me with what he does. I want to give you a few scenarios. I am not exaggerating on these. And honestly these situations do not even phase me now. I just shake my head and move on. I just can't allow myself to get upset, because IT IS WHAT IT IS.

1. Jude is learning to use the potty. 
He honestly rocks at it. The only problem is that WHEN he does wear a diaper he will take it off directly following a #2. He will then proceed to bring me the diaper. Sometimes he just goes on the floor. It's just literally a train wreck, I want to stab my eyes out. I mean honestly the other day I am folding laundry in the basement and Jude is trolling around. He sees Verner's water dish and proceeds to pee in it. I guess any small container of liquid equates to a potty. I just can't even handle it!! haha

2. The smoothie making.
 Bless my son's heart. He watches me cook and make smoothie so honestly he is just mimmicking me. But there is a reason Melissa and Doug created tiny kids kitchens and tiny little pretend appliances, and I thought by us owning these my children would do their "pretend" cooking there. Well Vincent and Luke do, but Jude...NOT.SO.MUCH. he wants to play with the big guns. This means the second he sees the kitchen empty he jets in there and begins cooking. He is tiny so he just disappears into the kitchen out of my radar. 
Last month he broke a few glass jars and also my blender. Honestly I should just move everything UP and half of this is my fault by having pots and pans in the cabinets at his reach but COME ON I never had these issues with Vincent or Luke. Jude is a different breed. 

3. The other kitchen fun. There is a reason we NOW have a lock on our pantry. Not because we are psycho parents who don't want their kids snacking on food but because we want our food to last more than 5 seconds. If there is food in reach of his little body he will find and destroy. Complete bags of apples will be found gone, then you will find half eaten apples all over. ALL OVER the house. Vincent and Luke are also to blame for this. But Jude is the biggest offender.

4. Chairs...we have two tables in the kitchen. If you ever come over you will notice that when you go to pull your chair out, YOU CAN'T! Okay you can buy only a tad because they are tied to the table. 
This may seem a little extreme but rest assured it is not. It was the most genius idea my husband ever had. Now my little troll cannot do as much damage. But his smart little mind will use whatever it takes. And if that means bringing Thomas the train inside to use as a stool so be it. Obviously you can see Thomas above. That cheeky little prick helped Jude create that wonderful mess. 

I could go on and on about that little guy!!! At the end of the day no matter how crazy he is and how much trouble he causes I am still so in love with him obviously, he's still my baby! But man he gives the word troll a whole new meaning. You think the online trolls are bad, let me send Jude to your house!:)
