Back at it....

After 2 weeks of back to school hell I hopped back on the workout train yesterday. I swear the two weeks leading up to school are pure madness. When we ended July our August schedule was wide open then bam, in came the emails for orientations and parents meetings and back to school picnics galore. There went our August!!! WHEW. It was pure madness! Good news is that Vincent is LOVING Kindergarten, I semi think that it is more calm at school than it is in our house for him. I mean at home he is bombarded by the 3 little brothers so at school at least he can talk to kids his own age and play with kids who enjoy bigger kids stuff! So all is good. Luke started back yesterday so now we are getting into a rhythm! By next week we should be one finely tuned school machine around these parts!! I can finally get my fitness back in check. I havent fallen off horribly but I can tell a HUGE difference in my mood and the way my body feels. I don't really worry about what the scale says, I go more by how I feel and I feel pretty crummy!

I hopped on the scale yesterday and snapped a shot in the mirror.
(Tired, Bitchy, Low Energy, BLAH!!)
I was originally going to wait until labor day was over but felt so crummy energy wise that I started earlier. I am sore as can be today but things are starting to look up! Its amazing how quickly you feel like crap when you deviate from eating clean and not working out. We are doing a new challenge group next week for 21 day fix and I am going to do the program over. I am so excited because I love the program and its so much fun to do it alongside other women!

In the meantime, Sam found the chocolate chips...I should probably clean him, since he is drooling chocolate all over me. YAY, MOTHERHOOD!! Happy Thursday y'all!

Jordan and I love watching series, we have finished so many, 24, Prison Break, Orange is The New Black, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey and so on. Recently we have been watching Weeds. I am slightly addicted and have been trying my best to TRY to get to sleep vs staying up all night watching. Well this season a new hottie appeared on Weeds. Insert, this hottie pants, Demetri.
He kinda reminds me of Jordan in a way so I thought he was cute right off the bat and I am totally digging him and Nancy's little love affair, even though she sleeps with EVERYONE so I should not get too attached to him! Anyways I didn't realize who he was at all, so I went a few episodes in while Jordan fell asleep, then the next morning he sadly told me who he was.
PORNSTACHE from Orange is The New Black haha now everytime I see him I envision Mendez!!!

His real name is Pablo Schreiber. I giggle at Pablo being his name but he is super cute!
Now I kind of want to rewatch Orange is The New Black to see him again!

PS if you havent watched Weeds, do it! I love it. There is a lot of bad language and some bad stuff but all in all it's a great and addicting show!!

Brew Master....

I guess I am not a master yet but feeling pretty darn successful after brewing my first batch of Kombucha yesterday. I felt like I was a high school student in a chemistry class with my glass jars and utensils ready to brew my first home batch of Kombucha in the kitchen.

Now if you do not know what Kombucha is, it is fermented tea. It sounds gross but I have honestly started to love it. When it is flavored you can't even taste it. I am addicted to the stuff but was not addicted to the price tag of $4 a bottle so I knew that the only way to cure my addiction was to make it at home.
(I got my brew kit from Kombucha Brooklyn, Williams-Sonoma also carries their kits so I knew they must be pretty legit. It came with EVERYTHING I needed, the tea (fresh made), sugar, flavor packs, the SCOBY, all of it came from there, I also got my canning jars and all that jazz)

Exactly what is the deal with Kombucha!?!?!
Well since it's fermented it has live bacterias inside it, think about yogurt and the live cultures and bacteria in it that help your intestines. Kombucha is the same, but in a drink form. A few of the amazing benefits of Kombucha are:
Boosts the Immune System
Natural Detoxifier
Rich in Vitamins and Enzymes
Gives you an ENERGY Boost (no joke, I love it)
Increases your Metabolism.
Helps your Joints (Arthritis)
Aids Digestion and Gut Health

I honestly thought it was a hoax at first and then I tried it, it gives me a boost and totally helps my digestion. I also just feel healthier and refreshed inside and out. I drink it almost daily and once I start getting into a brewing cycle I will be able to drink every single day. If you want to try it you can usually find it in your local organics section. It's refrigerated and comes flavored. My favorite is the Raspberry Ginger. You will honestly become addicted, I am not kidding. And the fact that it's so amazing for your health is a huge bonus. I honestly think it is kind of like pop without the nasty chemicals and junk. So if you like pop and crave pop I would honestly try Kombucha. I have a feeling you will kick your pop habit!

Have you tried the Buch yet?? Have you brewed it? Any tips or tricks for a first time brewer like myself?? I am day 1 into my first batch so any advice is WELCOME and appreciated!

Diva cup? Say what???

Okay so I made a quick video but I will also explain here for those of you who can't view it, if you're at work reading or something.

Anywho, the other week I posted a picture of my shopping cart, it looked like this:
Self explanatory, right?

Well a few people commented talking about a diva cup? I honestly thought it was a special Starbucks cup so I was ready to march back and ask the barista where the heck my diva cup was!!!! I was really hoping it was a sequins cup or something special but I found out via my best friend google that it was a menstrual cup. Whomp whomp. At first I just giggled, then was a tad intrigued by this cup thing. I read tons of reviews and decided to order it. Thanks to amazon for being amazing it showed up the next day. I was so excited. But at the same time was weirded out.
Ive had limited periods the past 5 years so I have always used tampons without even blinking an eye. I never put much thought into it at all. But tampons are cotton and cotton is GMO. Gag. I am a freak about GMO products, so I am all for any alternative! Plus not having to buy tampons or worry about them is kind of exciting. My kids always rip them out of the box and play with them anyways so it will save me on clean up.
I watched a few YouTube videos and took my instructions in the bathroom and tried it out. It took a few times to get it right. I know its super awkward, I still remember trying to figure out a tampon, most weird thing ever so its very similar to that!
You don't have to change as often
No waste, reuseable
NO LEAKS. This baby can hold a TON.
Can't even feel it
Easy once you get hang of it

Getting over the Ick factor
The awkward pin they give you haha
(like legit a pin to pin to your coat that says "diva")

Not much phases me after watching my four boys come out of my lady parts, and yes you can watch, they have a mirror, it helps a ton!! Haha so from that and also what felt like the whole world in the room for each birth (not exaggerating 10 people were in the room for Vincent's) I am not phased by chatting about a good ole "vagina" cup. Bahahahaha. That is totally why they call it a mensuration cup because the word vagina would freak everyone out

I would definitely recommend trying it. I will be using it from now on. You are supposed to rinse each use but if you are in a public bathroom you can just wipe it down with toilet paper and rinse the next time, I had to do that when we were at a restaurant. No biggie at all.

Through the past 5 years I have really taken control of my feminine health. I honestly could do posts for weeks on it because there is so much to learn and know. I really do encourage you to learn about your cycles and body. You are in control of your health, so read up and learn all that you can. Getting in tune with your body is so rewarding and makes life much more understandable.
So yes to the Diva Cup!

What's your take?? Have you made the switch?

{PS. Pink Pad app is where its at for charting. I chart my period, my moods, my health haha. I chart it all}

PSS. While making this video in the bathroom Jude fell asleep in the tub! :)

6 hours.

To say I was nervous about Vincent going into Kindergarten would be an understatement. Homeboy would complain about preschool being TOO long, it was 2 hours. So I was very curious how he would hold up being gone all day, 6 hours is a long time for 5 year olds. He started on Wednesday and has honestly loved it so far. His only complaint was on day 1 that he didnt make it to his cookies during lunch, because I told him to eat his veggies and ham rolls first, before eating those cookies. I am so proud that he listened. I mean seriously I figured he would scarf those puppies down first! At least I know he is listening, which makes me even happier about his school ventures.
Seeing all these tiny people in uniforms is way too cute
It's seriously hard to believe our first man is already in school. I never even imagined him going to school since we had planned to homeschool. We still would LOVE to homeschool and this is our first REAL year of schooling so we are just taking it as it is and seeing how it goes. Luckily they are super anal about how the kids treat eachother and dealing with bullying which was one of my biggest fears with schooling. I pray this is true, we will see as time goes on, but all the children and parents seem to be very involved. So here's to Vincent's first year of Kindergarten!!
Now it's just me and these 3 crazy boys. Luke starts preschool next week so will be gone a few hours a week and I cannot even explain how excited I am to get a little one on one time with Jude and Sammer. I feel like Jude totally got lost in the rat race and hasnt gotten as much one on one time so I am excited to really spend some quality time with him!!

Hope you are all doing well with your kids going to school this week and next week. It's a change but I am very hopeful that it is a GOOD change. Vincent luckily hasn't seemed too tired, I think that school may be more CALM than life at home with his crazy brothers! haha

House Hunters- Tomorrow!

I am so excited, tomorrow night they air our second House Hunters episode!! We filmed this past February with all of our renovations so I am so excited to see it come to life!! Pictures don't show the angles of the renovations well so I am pumped to see what it looks like video taped.
August 14th at 10pm (third segment of show)
Let's take a quick peek at the madness we moved into.
We also demolished the "master bath" and made a jack and jill bath and 4th bedroom.
When we moved in a little over a year and a half ago we had planned to only renovate one bathroom, then we became addicted to the renovation process and brought this old beauty back to life with a tiny bit of Darr family flair. When I look around these rooms it brings me so much joy because we picked every tiny detail of it. It was definitely a long process but so worth it! I cannot wait to see it come to life tomorrow night on HGTV at 10pm. We are the third segment of the show.

Here is a pic of Sammer from the day we filmed. He was only 2 months old.
I am semi cringing at seeing myself 2 months post partum but it will kind of be cool at the same time to see how far I have come in my health and fitness. I was literally 20-25 pounds heavier when we filmed. INSANITY how much changes in a few months!!! Feeling uber blessed.

Let me know if you guys catch the episode!!! eeeeeek!!

Anniversary: Let's Build a House ((or 2))

Jordan and I are not big gift givers, honestly we have pretty much all that we need and more. I have never been a big jewelry person minus my wedding ring so it leaves no room for anniversary gifts since I honestly want no jewelry, my wedding ring symbolizes our love and honestly I dont need anything else expensive on my body other than that ring. I do have a small obsession with watches but that is seriously as far as my jewelry collection rolls. Same with most other luxuries, I do not really NEED them, sure I would love a Louis Vuitton purse, but do I really need it, nope, not at all. I have a tendency of ruining things anyway so the cheaper the better for me. Helps our budget too that I am this way, so when ideas for our 5 year anniversary started to roll around there was honestly nothing that I needed, sure I wanted a few things but when I really sat down and thought about each thing I wanted in terms of "will it bring me happiness" or "will it better my life" the answer for each one was NO. Sure that new MK watch on my wish list would probably make me smile and go awesome with some outfits but would it really help me?? No, it is just another thing to add to our list of belongings.

This past week I have been struggling with a lot emotionally. Nothing with my family but just the cruel reminder that there are a lot of scary things going on in this world. The other week our city and suburbs lost access to clean drinking water for 2 days. We weren't allowed to drink or even brush our teeth with the water. It was sheer panic from everyone, clearing the shelves to get bottled water, lines hour long for new shipments of water were all over the city. I just thought about all the countries that have this as their REALITY daily. Clean water is such a luxury and we take it forgranted every single day. We wash our hands, we rinse things down with it, we shower and bathe without even thinking about the water. I also sadly read an article with many graphic photos that I cannot get out of my head on ISIS and what they are doing. They are killing children, and families all because of their values. CHILDREN. Children are being killed left and right. I just do not understand. How can the world be so cruel to children?! I have just been praying on ways that we can help to make this world a better place. It's so easy to sit over here safe and sound in our multi room homes in the United States with our air conditioning and fridges full of food and wish that the world would get better. Praying is good but at the same time we need to also take action if possible.

This week at Mass we had a priest from the Caribbean visiting and sharing the ministry to help families in the Caribbean slums. These families have NOTHING. He told us that some families have to take turns sleeping because there is not enough room in their hut for everyone to sleep at once so one half of the family will sleep til 1am and the other will sleep from 1am to the morning. Here we are with a 2,800 square foot house and empty bedrooms getting amazing nights of sleep. I feel selfish. Then he went on to talk about the food, these families have nothing. They rely strictly on the church to help them and feed them. There are children just like mine going to bed without dinner. Can you imagine? My boys just have to ask and BAM, they have food. We have a pantry and fridge full and all we have to do is walk into the kitchen.

When I went to church Sunday I can honestly say that I still wanted my shiny new Micheal Kors watch. There was no doubt that I was most likely going to get it for our anniversary. I mean that's what we do, right? On anniversaries and birthdays we give gifts, even if people do not need them, we have grown up in a culture that thinks you HAVE to give gifts. And sure there is a place and a time for gifts, meaningful ones and it's truly your choice but instantly I knew reading the list of donation amounts what I wanted to do. There were items listed on what each donation amount equated to. $25 would feed 100 poor children, that is 25 cents a child. $500 dollars would provide safe drinking water to a village. $2500 would build a multi room home for a family.

I sat there, literally with tears welling up in my eyes surrounded by my beautiful family with full bellies and knew what needed to be done. Jordan and I were on the same exact page and knew we would be donating to this cause. There was no doubt in our mind that our money is meant for these people. We have decided to build a home for a family in the Caribbean. This will be our gift for our 5 year anniversary. This is a gift that will change lives and give hope to a family thousands of miles away. This means a million times more than a watch to wear on occasion.

I started brainstorming how we could help even MORE.....of course we cant give every dime of our money away since we have our own life expenses so I set up a Go Fund Me account. I am trying to raise an additional $2,500 so we can build 2 houses.

I ask you to please SHARE this and help us hit our goal!!! I mean seriously, I thought ONE house would be amazing but just think, we could build TWO HOUSES for families in dire need. So please, even if you cannot donate, please just SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!!!!!

As if I could ever bathe alone. Ya right.
This ice cream. So legit. Its not organic but has only a few ingredients. And the taste is out of this world. The chocolate is amazing.
 A reminder Vincent starts kindergarten.
Obsessed. Clutch crossbody bag. Must minogram everything. Now.
Shoes for wide feet that my husband will approve. I have ordered 5 pairs. This is insanity. I could write a novel on boys shoes.
He found the stairs. Tuck and roll bro.
In honor of world breastfeeding week. So blessed.
Oh just another Jordan original. Why play video games inside. Let's make a game area outside.
 I love my guys.
 New trend. Diaper wear?
Oh my God Becky look at her butt. It is so toned. Haha

WHY I started Coaching

In June, I made a video of why I started my little job with Beachbody. I am still blown away from this huge blessing!! Here is my why and my thoughts on it!!
If this is something that would interest you I would LOVE to chat more about it!! It honestly has been the biggest blessing for me and my well being!!

Chocolate Shakeology PB cups

Well I have a super sweet tooth if you didn't already know and I am looking for healthier ways to satisfy my cravings and replace some unhealthy things. My friend posted that you could make peanut butter cups with shakeology, so obviously I had to try it. It only called for 3 ingredients and I had them all in the pantry!!
I used a silicon cupcake pan because I was out of cupcake liners but typically you use cupcake liners for this.
Its pretty darn tasty! They are big so each one lasts for awhile! Such a great alternative to Reese Cups! :)

Cleanse Results & House Hunters News!!!

A few weeks ago I did the Shakeology 3 day cleanse. Its not like most cleanses where you CAN'T eat real food, so I can actually do it without feeling like death. The cleanse is 3 shakes a day for 3 days, along with green tea, fruit for a snack and dinner or meat and veggies. The cleanse calls for water with the shakes but I prefer almond milk and also since I am breastfeeding I want to make sure I am getting enough calories.

I would say Day 2 is the hardest because you are smack dab in the middle of the cleanse. Its funny because when you know you can't eat something you CRAVE it even more. Funny how the mind works like that. But since it's ONLY 3 days you can suck it up and make it through. Here are my results.
So it freaking rocks, and I know some people wonder about the whole maintaining the weight once you drop, you do. My weight usually fluctuates anyway throughout the day so I always weigh myself in the morning after I use the bathroom. I also never worry if the scale is higher after a day of cheat meals or what not, it always goes back down after a few days of clean eating and working out. But the cleanse is a great way to jump start your journey. I feel like it gives your body a nice starting point and gives YOU the confidence you need to push forward. You can do them whenever you are in a funk, I am guessing my next one will be after Thanksgiving haha!! So there you have it, 3 days, done and done.

I have 3 2extra cleanse packs this month for my blog friends. They are $50 shipped for the 9 shakes, I include the directions and you also gain access to our shakeology group for support during the cleanse. The first 3 2 people to leave their paypal address and pay their invoice get them!

Now EXCITING news....
We had filmed House Hunters again for the Where Are They Now episode and it's on AUGUST 14th at 10pm!! I think we are the last section of the show!!
I am so excited to see their spin on the train wreck of the house when we moved in to now with all the renovations!!! We filmed when Sammer was just 2 months old so it will be insane to see him as a baby again and to also see how big the others boy are now. So tune in and watch us!! Fingers crossed they make us look normal! haha

#emptyglasscity {no water}

Saturday morning we woke up to numerous texts to NOT drink our water. I was honestly so confused. My mother in laws text said it was toxic. I had literally took a shower less than 10 hours before in the water and been drinking it all night. Yay for me and also the  boys who drank it all night.

I didn't realize how crazy it was until news reports said all the stores were out of bottled water and nearby cities up to an hour away were also out of water. It was freaking madness. We didn't freak because Jordan's grandpa was coming so he brought us a few cases of water. I had to go to the grocery for a few things and it was sheer madness. All the produce that was sprayed with the sprinklers was gone, the shelves were cleared and there was a giant line of people waiting for another shipment of water.
It was madness. We are now almost 48 hours in. Making due with bottled water for everything.
The worst part is you cannot boil the water, so no cooking with it or even washing dishes or clothing. The heat increases the toxins. We get our water from Lake Erie and its a train wreck. This is an image from the news. I want to gag.
There has been some dirty stories of mean people and stores price gouging people for water but there has been a ton of good awesome acts of kindness. Last night Luke , Vincent and I took a wagon full of water to our neighbors just in case they weren't able to get any. At the same time we were doing that our backyard neighbor had brought Jordan over a 24 pack of water. I mean seriously her and I were doing the same act at the sane time. Our one neighbor honestly almost cried. She is almost 80's I would guess and I have only chatted with her a few times through our yards so she was so thrilled we could talk a little as my kids literally walked in her front door toting water in. She said we bring her so much joy with the kids running wild in the yard playing and she sits on her porch and soaks it in every day. I of course was overwhelmed to hear that because we really do try to be good neighbors and sometimes I get nervous because the boys run wild naked in the yard haha but she said she loves us. So I am glad we are bringing some joy to her life! So there was a lot of good from this happening. We met some great neighbors and the boys were so excited to help people and make sure everyone had water.

I am hoping the ban lifts soon, its been very weird not using the water. I feel like hands down the most wasteful person in America with all these bottles of water floating around our house. But here we are almost to day 3 of #emptyglasscity

Luckily we are all smiles.
