New Obsession...TWICE!!!

Have you guys heard of Twice?? I did not until my friend referred me to them! Its like a Plato's Closet but online! It's a place where you can sell your gently used items and also buy items!! The coolest part is they actually pay you WELL for your items which is nice. I swear in college I would sell tons of my clothes to Plato's and get $10 for 20 items haha! What a rip off!!!

The coolest thing is that they send you a HUGE BAG to ship your items for free!!
Insane to me still!!! You just pack them up and drop them at the post office and you are DONE!

I went through my closet and carefully picked items that I have not worn in a long time. They have a huge list of brands that they buy so I just grabbed a lot of my Gap Outlet and Express stuff! I used to work for Express before children so I had TONS of dress pants and clothes that were barely worn obviously because my usual go-to has been yoga pants and comfy stuff since I have been pregnant the past 5 years haha! Anyways I made a pile and folded it all up and packed it into the bag!
It was so weird just dropping the giant bag off at the post office and not having to PAY anything!
I felt like it was robbery! But it was awesome!
I sent my bag on October 20th. And I woke up today to my email for the offer.....
They bought 13 items and passed on a few that were a tad worn which is fine. You can choose to accept the offer or if you do not want the offer they will ship them all back to you! So freaking awesome! I of course happily took the offer. You also get a $10 credit just for selling! The will donate the extra items that they did not buy to goodwill unless you want them back.

If you click my referral link you will get $10 just for signing up!!! Then if you sell you will get another $10. Umm hello FREE $20 just for cleaning your closet out!!!

ALSO use this code to get an additional 30% off TODAY!!! -- CANDY30

I hope you guys check it out!! I am officially obsessed with Twice!!!

Hope you all have a fab week. If we are not following eachother on IG we need to be!

Sweet & Salty Chex Mix

Fall means CHEX MIX in our house. I am obsessed with it but only in the fall and winter. Not sure why but that is just how I roll. Same with cutouts and peanut butter kiss cookies! The outside temperature must be just chilly enough for them to come out! I have finally perfected the best sweet and salty mix. It's almost like the normal mix but I add some other items! I just love the sweetness that the honey nut chex and other honey cereals.
I literally do not measure I just pour into our huge baking dish but here is an idea of what I use.
3 cups of Honey Nut Chex
2 cups of Rice Chex
2 cups of Honey Nut Cherrios
2 cups of Honey Kix
1 cup of bite sized Pretzels
Bag of Walnuts

Top with: (I legit usually almost double this)
6 TBS melted butter
2 TBS Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp Seasoning Salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder

Pour on top and bake at 200 stirring every 15 mins or so until it is not longer wet!
Get ready for it all to be gone in 2 days. It is THAT good. The honey cereal just really adds that extra yumminess. Let me know if you make it like this! My boys LOVE it!!!

Cowabunga Dude

I posted last month about our costume decision. I wasn't in love with the Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles idea for Vincent and Luke because I selfishly wanted them all to match because honestly there are only so many years where my input will matter. So I did what any good mom would do and ignored the face they wanted Sonic and let it simmer for a few weeks before I broached the subject again. Last week I was online getting ready to order their costumes when I pulled up the Party City site and on the page were the Ninja Turtles. Not sure why it never dawned on me that there were indeed 4 ninja turtles, perfect for a family with 4 boys. And beyond perfect when I saw they even carried an infant sized get up!! The boys honestly have never seen the ninja turtle show but I asked them anyway! "Vincent how cool would it be if you guys were ninja turtles for Halloween!!!!" If you give the right tone to anything kids will usually jump at it! And they did. Luke and Vincent sprinted over to see the costumes online and of course fell in love with the awesome idea that turtles were ninjas. And hello, they had swords and nunchucks!

Of course they all wanted to be red but I just picked whatever was in stock. It ended up Sam is the red one and the other 3 are whatever color that fits haha. They didn't even care when they arrived, they were just pumped to be turtles. Vincent has worn his the past two days, doing his ninja moves all over the house, swiping his sword and making crazy ninja noises.

Here are a few peeks of the little ninjas. I die. Seriously. Way too cute.
What are your little ones being for Halloween???

Whew! I do not know if it was just my wonderful time of the month or a combination of that and the fall weather but holy heck last week I was out of commission. Was just in a complete funk and wanted to do nothing. I wish it was that easy. I still did a lot but the workouts got pushed to the back burner. I started back Sunday with a double workout and am back on track! I am actually feeling more like a functioning human being now. Holler! I am down 2 lbs and have 2 weeks left to go! I am finally starting to see the fluff in my midsection go away. This summer I could sit down without any buldge and let's just say that is NOT the case right now. My goal is to have that almost gone in 2 weeks. We will see what happens. The reason I adore this workout is because all I have to do is push play. I don't have to get dressed or go somewhere. It's so nice. Anyways here is an update.
Tomorrow I have a post of the boys costumes ready to go!!
Funny thing is now I need to find them all. They all ran off with them when we bought them so I need to wrangle in the chaos and find them before trick or treat!

Jewelery Maker? Sure!

October 15th

Today is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day. I honestly do not think about miscarriage as much anymore since we have been insanely blessed. It does come up in passing from time to time when someone else is going through their miscarriage or infant loss situation. I know when people think of me they automatically think; 4 healthy baby boys. 4 healthy pregnancies. But in reality it went 2 healthy pregnancies and baby boys. One miscarriage. 2 healthy pregnancies and baby boys.
We were on vacation a few years ago in FL with Vincent and Luke and I found out that we were once again pregnant! I was so excited. WOULD IT FINALLY BE A GIRL, I thought to myself. On the LONG drive home we talked about how exciting it would be to welcome baby #3 to the family! We arrived home and all was well for a few weeks and then one afternoon I went to the bathroom and wiped and saw the tiniest bit of blood. I am talking MAYBE a drop! AND I FREAKED! I have always had no blood during pregnancies so I of course bee-lined to the ER to get checked. I had not had my first OB appt because I was only 6-7 weeks along. Long story short I called my sister in law to come along since Jordan was out of town. Lucky for her she had NO IDEA I was even pregnant, (that actually makes me tear up writing that!). I was there a few hours getting checked and having an U/S. The ultrasound showed a baby but the heart was slower than it should be. I left with a 50/50 shot that the little bean would survive. The next day I was at a playdate and felt a gush so I ran to the bathroom and BLOOD everywhere. I was faced with the fact that this was most likely the end and the babies heartbeat must have stopped between when I was at the ER and now. I was in full blown miscarriage mode. The next few weeks were insanely hard. I did not understand why or how we were going through this. Now that I am on the flipside I can easily talk about it. But man it was a rough time. VERY VERY rough. I feel like the minute you find out you are pregnant, you are already in love. I envisioned everything about the baby and was full blown in love with him or her. Than in an instant it was gone.

Luckily weeks later, I felt not so hot so I decided to take a random pregnancy test. I had not even had my check up with the OB after the miscarriage and they had said it would take a few cycles of my period for things to get back on track! Well plain as day a PLUS sign appeared. And 8 months later Jude was welcomed into our family. I call him the miracle baby because he was formed legit seconds after the miscarriage happened. My doctors were insanely weirded out by the timeline of events but all I jnow is he is now a happy and healthy 2 year old. Following Jude we welcomed Sam. We have been INSANELY blessed so it's really hard for me to get too focused on our miscarriage. Not that I ever EVER want to go through it again but it opened my eyes and made me focus on what's important. It made me not want to take any day for granted. It helped me realize how BLESSED we are with these 4 happy and healthy babies! I will never ever know what went wrong but I do know that I will always have an attachment to our baby in heaven. One day we will meet him or her. PS I am almost 100% sure it was a girl haha! I always think that! But maybe she is up there smiling down on us and giving me the extra patience I need to handle these crazy boys!
So today I am praying for all of you who have had a loss! I pray no one has to go through this and if you are or know someone please reach out and talk to them. That was such a HUGE help for me was talking about it! You are NOT alone! Its more common than you think! Speak out and help others. You never know who is reading and who you are helping by sharing your story! I hope that my story of 2 additional pregnancies after a miscarriage will give you some hope! xoxo

The momma who started it was in my birth club when she went through her loss. I remember being so heartbroken for her. She is helping so many through this site now.

Cricket Wireless Presents Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias!

Disclaimer: "I participated in Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central for Cricket Wireless. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating."

I have a huge crush on Enrique mainly because my husband runs around singing "You can run you can hide but you can't ESCAPE my LOVE". Yes I am not kidding. Not one bit. So when I saw he was touring with Pit Bull I got all sorts of excited. What an amazing pairing.
Currently, Cricket Wireless is giving people something to smile about (#STSA) by sponsoring the awesomely popular Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias tour, connecting with consumers and music lovers all over the country

Sadly there are only a few tour dates left and in some pretty awesome locations. Check the list and see if they will be in your area for you to get in on the action!
10/10 -- Los Angeles, CA -- STAPLES Center
10/11 -- Los Angeles, CA -- STAPLES Center
10/12 -- Las Vegas  -- Mandalay Bay Events Center
10/14 -- San Jose, CA -- SAP Center at San Jose
10/15 -- San Diego, CA -- Valley View Casino Center
10/17 -- Dallas, TX  -- American Airlines Center
10/18 -- San Antonio -- Alamodome

10/22 -- Atlanta, GA -- The Arena at Gwinnett Center
10/25 -- Hollywood, FL -- Hard Rock Live
10/26 -- Miami, FL -- AmericanAirlines Arena
10/28 -- Orlando, FL -- Amway Center
Cricket is making sure this concert is unforgettable for fans, by setting up some super cool activations, including:
  • Cricket Stage - A 10x20 stage erected at select tour stops where fans can hop up on stage and give their best "headliner" pose. Participants can share their 360 images on their social channels via "share kiosks" around the stage. Photos will be entered into a sweepstakes where a winner and 3 guests will get a trip to the Miami Latin Grammy Street Party. (Participants of "The Stage" activation all receive Cricket ear buds)
  • VIP Meet & Greet - A backstage VIP area will be set up backstage. Meet & Greet participants will get to meet Pitbull or Enrique and take photos on a Cricket step & repeat.
  • Selfie Station - Mirrors in the ladies room encourage fans to snap selfies and post to social media. (I bet this will be a BIG hit!)
  • Ask Enrique - Fans can win a trip to the Pitbull and Enrique tour stop in Atlanta, meet Enrique in person and ask him that burning question they have.
  • Hologram Standee Billboards - Located at high-traffic spots within the activation venues, holograms of Enrique and Pitbull will create completely lifelike images of the musician for concert goers to check out! (how fun!)

I am sorry but HOW AMAZING does the SELFIE station sound? I legit would love one of those at every event or even inside my house.

If you do not know about Cricket Wireless you are missing out. I am a huge contact hater so having a cell phone company that offers great services WITHOUT a contract is amazing. They have all the same perks of the major companies but in my eyes are SO MUCH BETTER.

If you hit up a concert make sure to post those #STSA selfies. Be sure to also follow along on Facebook and Twitter for more fun!

Buckeye Madness

My all time favorite treat. The chocolate peanut buttery goodness in one wonderful bite sized treat. During the holidays these are legit my favorite thing on cookie trays. I choose these over any fancy cutout cookie. Unless there are cutout cookies with sprinkles, spinkles always draw me in. I posted a photo of a package of buckeyes the other day on my instagram. I was shocked just how many people had no idea what they were. I'm clearly just stuck in my Ohio bubble thinking Buckeyes are a tradition all over the world.
Martha's buckeyes are my favorite. They just started selling them at our bigger grocery chains and also sell them in handy little 3 packs too. Peace out Hershey's candy bars, Martha's Buckeyes are here to take your spot. Anyways since I found these babies at the store I have been grabbing them very often. And crushing them. I swear once you have one you want them all. I dare you to just eat one. Super addicting.
When I think of Buckeyes it is not the football team and crazy fans that come to mind. Its these balls of heaven.
Here is a recipe. Its literally one of the easiest things in the world. Don't say I didn't warn you though!
Well I decided I can't eat them daily but I can easily fulfill my cravings with my shakes.
My go to shakeology treat. It never disappoints.

Did you know what buckeyes were? Do you call them buckeyes?

Honestly I have learned so much about the horrible world of comparing. I used to fall prey to it far too often. With the internet it becomes even harder not to get sucked in. Especially being a blogger. You just have to remind yourself NOT to compare. It only gets you down and also gets you no where.
I myself fondly remember so many times when I compared. Blogs showing perfect houses with amazing decor and some even with white couches and rugs that I envied beyond belief. But I knew my kids would turn that white to a wonderful shade of dirt in 5 seconds flat. I remember feeling so competitive when we had Vincent on our birth boards when people would talk about their kids hitting milestones or this or that and I would wonder, why is Vincent not there yet? It even comes with marriages where I fondly remember a friend of mines husband sending her for a massage after he was traveling a few days that week and she had the kids to herself. Where the hell is my massage day when my husband travels. Comparing can cause so much anger within you and cause drama and worry where it is not needed.

I read in a book last night about children and it struck a huge cord with me. When we stop looking at our children as projects and look at them as a person we enjoy motherhood so much more. And I feel like I totally used to look at them as a project and compare them to others. Now that I look at them as their own person and stop comparing to what others are doing with their kids I can enjoy each of their personalities better. We all drum to the beat of our own drum and we need to embrace it.

It has taken 28 years to get to where I am in this mindset with trying to get rid of comparison. I think maybe my life is such a blur I just do not have as much time to get caught up in it! At the times when I do get caught up I just remind myself, we are not the same. We will never be the same. This is MY life and no one elses. And that usually brings me back to reality.

A lot of my friends always tell me how I easy I make it look being a mom and doing all that I do. Honestly the truth is that it's a shit show most days. But I love it. I love being busy. I love the madness. I love my family. We are so very far from perfect. I usually blog about the positives though because honestly I do not like to dwell on the negatives. They just suck the life out of you. So when I blog I try to blog things that I will like to look back on. This is my online journal and sometimes when I am in a rough spot I literally will click back to older posts and see how far we have come.

Life isn't easy. It sometimes downright doesn't seem fair but I promise you if you change your perspective and stop comparing and actually focus on YOUR life you will be able to pinpoint some pretty awesome things. I always refer to looking at life with horse blinders on.
If you have those blinders on you can't see anyone else. Your eyes are on YOUR path and that is where they need to be, ALWAYS. So please, please put those blinders on and I think your life will get much brighter. You have amazing things in your life, all of you. Stop focusing on others and stop comparing. I pinky swear life will be a whole lot sweeter when you do!

Weekend Fail...

Well I guess I wasn't really on a plan so I cannot call the weekend a total fail. I had my photography mini sessions this weekend which means one thing; STARBUCKS! And then since it's fall weather I decided that baking made sense. I love chex mix. Seriously. And the only time I make it is the fall, same goes for cut out cookies, buckeyes (which they now sell at our store. I die) and fudge. These are all my winter go-tos and since I only do them a few months a year, I do not feel one ounce of guilt.

So I got all my supplies for chex mix, I will share my recipe soon because it's AMAZING. I use honet nut chex and some other fun stuff for the perfect salty sweet mix! It's addicting. Well when I was headed at the checkout, Martha's Buckeyes were right there to greet me. If you have never had buckeyes, I feel bad for you. They are pretty much chocolate peanut butter balls of heaven. I could eat them all day every day. Well I snagged a box of those babies. This was all on Sunday when I planned to start the 21 day fix the following day. Setting myself up for a complete fail. But boy did it taste good! Moral of the story I gained a few more pounds this weekend and yesterday started the program.

I cheated horrible yesterday when I crushed 4 buckeyes and some chex mix for breakfast. I promise you if something is in my house, I WILL EAT IT. And the boys were hanging with me and had their bowls of chex mix so of course I took a few bites handfuls. But I decided to not throw the entire day a way and I got my workout in and ate healthy the rest of the day. Today I am back on track....okay I did eat ONE buckeye after my breakfast but they are GONE....I had to finish the container. So no more in the house and that is a bonus!! I am off to do my workout and eat healthy the rest of the day!  Cant wait to do weekly updates on my journey!

Anyone else have the same eat everything in the house issues as me???

Here we go AGAIN!

I started the 21 day fix in March after Sam but never followed the meal plan. Mainly because the thought of containers and food stressed me out. My main focus was breastfeeding and the kids while trying to workout! I had huge success with the program and ended up dropping 20lbs. I was only expecting to hit 123, my usual not pregnant weight and I was shocked to hit 117!! I haven't weighed that since high school. I was insanely pumped over it!! I have done pretty well all summer with just maintaining that weight. I fell off the workout bandwagon and also my eating healthy has been hit or miss. I just really love chocolate and Starbucks fraps! Alas, one of my goals this year was to do the ENTIRE program for 21 days, MEAL PLAN included.

I am usually the type of person who sees a "plan" and automatically wants to cheat. I don't do well with plans. I swear it always makes me hungrier when I know I cannot eat something. Thankfully this plan allows some chocolate. And plus it's only 21 days so I can just suck it up and handle it! ((hopefully))

I took a before video because I feel like sometimes pictures don't show the full effect.

My meal plan is going to be uber boring. Mainly because I want it to be INSANELY easy!
And you better believe I have Chipotle on my list because it's approved. I figured that would be my reward meal each week if I stay on track! We really are pretty clean eaters but I think my snacking is where I have issues. Hello graham crackers and cheddar bunnies children snacks! If it's in the house I will eat it! So I just need to get more quick healthy snacks around.

I will officially be starting Monday October 6th! I have a group of ladies doing it with me so I am so darn excited to see what happens. I figured I will update each Friday with how I am feeling and the results!! Because right now I am feeling a tad like crud. My energy level is down and I just need a nice little kick in the butt! If you have the program let me know! Would love for you to join us!! If you need more info on it also let me know!!

3:30 am

I tossed and turned in bed hoping that the crying I heard was in my dreams. The crying continued. It was Sam and sadly the minutes went on and I realized that he was not going to go back to sleep! As I started to get out of bed Jordan woke up so I asked what time it was.
Come on now Sam!
Clearly that memo I sent last week wasn't read.
The do not wake mommy unless you are sick one.

Alas, I drearily drag my self out from under my warm covers and make my way to his room. He is full blown pissed sitting in the corner of his crib. I picked him up and took him to our room and nursed him back to sleep. About 4:00 I took him back to his crib and climbed back under the covers with my phone. I just wasn't sleepy so I started scrolling through Facebook and also downloaded the new documentary Fed Up to watch since I knew I wasn't going back to bed. While I was waiting for the movie to download I clinked on an article a few moms had posted.

I was blown away. I have 4 children and never once did I think about it that way. The article was spot on. It shared that we as parents are so busy worrying about how OUR day went and what we could check off our to-do list and we rate our day solely based on those things. Instead we should be basing the day through our childrens eyes. I am a HUGE offender of chalking my day up to a failure if I don't get everything done. So yes, most days are a train wreck because my to-do list of motherly and wifely duties is NEVER ending and never done.
I laid in bed and reran yesterday through the eyes on my boys vs through my eyes. Yesterday I walked downstairs to Luke and Jude playing video games at like 7am. They are obsessed with Sonic, and then I walked into the kitchen and saw Jude had also helped himself to some ice cream bars. The wrapper and nuts from the sundae cone were on the floor. Come on son, cover your tracks! I of course was so annoyed but can you imagine HOW AWESOME their day was so far?? Hello, they strolled downstairs in their PJs, grabbed some ice cream and were plopped down in front of the TV playing Sonic. DREAM LIFE for a little boy. I also think about last night when I read the same book over and over and I honestly wanted to be doing a million other things around the house since it was already past bedtime but now looking at it from Jude's eyes, his mommy read the funny book again and again and again. HOW AWESOME! So this morning when Sam woke up at 3:30 am how amazing was it that mommy came in to feed him and comfort him. We shared a special time just the two of us, cuddling and snuggled up. Much better way to look at it then dreading the fact he woke up.

When Jordan woke up I told him about the article and we just laid there and laughed about how HOW AWESOME life is from Jude's eyes. The kid I see as a stress factor and mess maker galore is actually loving his life. Although he makes messes, he is learning and figuring life out. I do not know why this article struck me so hard, maybe because I am delirious from lack of sleep or maybe I just needed a wake up call. Seriously, no pun intended. Don't do this again tomorrow Sam!

But honestly, I am a huge offender over here of relying on my feelings and my never ending to do list to measure how successful my day was. Instead of being upset that I didn't get my workout in, I need to look at the fact that I got to spend extra time with the boys outside or playing in the toy room. So read the article and give yourselves a break over the laundry and the dishes. The only thing I am showing my kids right now is that it is okay to get upset and stress out over not getting stuff done. Ummm that is the EXACT thing I do not want my boys to do. I want them to be calm mannered and not flip a lid when things don't go right. But I need to lead by example. I need to show them that even though the day wasn't perfect on paper, it was still an AMAZING day.
I saved the post to my phones home screen and will most likely read it weekly! So, from this point forward let's all work at not summing our day up all based off our to-do list. I am not saying just throw that to-do list out the window at all but take a step back and look at your day from someone elses perspective. I want my boys to have the most amazing life possible and I want to be as present as possible in their lives. Instead of seeing Jude's God awful messes as a day ruined I need to take a breathe and make it a learning moment for him. Me flipping my crap over the mess is not the answer to the problem, but me helping him to learn in a calm manner will in turn make him *hopefully* handle situations better. I need to stop looking at this life as mine, and starting looking at it as OURS. Jordan, Vincent, Luke, Jude, Sam and even Verners! And sidenote, Verner must have the best day ever when he poops on the carpet and sneaks up on the couch for a nap. That little monster.
Life is good. Sometimes you just have to switch the glasses you are looking through.

Also, if we are not following eachother on Instagram, we need to be!!! I post there so much more and also post all of the kids shenanigans. It's a more raw look into our messy and crazy life.
